Kate Knudsvig is a highly-sought Irish fiddler and classical violinist based in Boston, Massachusetts. A full-time musician, she divides her time between classical music and Irish traditional music, a combination that Boston’s vibrant musical scene lends itself to exceedingly well. Ciarán McKenna, from County Tyrone, Ireland, is a harpist and fiddle player deeply rooted in the Ulster-Irish music tradition. A two-time All-Ireland champion at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, he draws inspiration from three generations of family fiddle players.Their shared love of groovy tunes—especially in keys like C and F—has united them in Boston’s session scene, and they’re thrilled to share the stage together for the first time at BCMFest 2026.
